All Aboard the Deltech Queen!

Riverboat Ramblin'
Gamblin' * Eatin' * Sparkin' * Drinkin'
The folks at the Terry Campus of Delaware Technical and Community College asked Seger to help decorate their annual Gourmet Gala Scholarship fundraiser.  With a riverboat theme, he created two twenty-three-foot smoking stacks for the roof, a tree-lined stage entrance, a festive Deltech Queen foyer, a Grand Saloon festooned with Spanish moss and hung with giant playing cards and rivertown tickets, a twenty-two-foot red paddlewheel and a riverboat front porch overlooking the Mississippi River with scenery changing ever fifteen seconds.

The Foyer
Approaching the building, travelers were greeted with smoking stacks, calliope music and a canopy of lights over the "stage" ("gangplank" if you're a pirate) entrance.
The Entrance included a twenty-four foot stage, pylons, Spanish moss-draped trees and even Mark Twain in his white suit greeting passengers.
A Dixieland band was backed by the magnificent twenty-two foot paddlewheel, complete with rotating light.
Magnolia blossoms, playing cards
and poker chips enlivened the
hurricane-globed candle centerpieces.
Seger's trips down the Mississippi River were the source for the ever-changing view just off the port side balcony.

The restaurant kiosks were outlined with lights and painted red, white and black in keeping with the playing card color scheme.
